e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Information Technologies Introduction at Agriculture Engineering Education

en
Abstract

This paper presents an innovative work prepared for the Agricultural Engineer's Grade Qualifications (ETSIA) in the PolyTechnical University of Madrid (UPM) in order to improve the formation (as well as the training) in the Information and Automatic Technologies of the pupils. This work is necessary due to the fact that those obligatory subjects do not exist in their curricula and, on the other hand, the labour market demands pupils' education in this domain. There has been defined an Intensification Option that has been named: Intensification in Technologies of the Information and Automatic (ITIA), so that to the pupils who finish their studies at the University will obtain a diploma in such Intensification besides the Agronomic Engineer's official degree. In this work, three Departments of the UPM have collaborated to carry out this initiative that has been partially founded by a UPM coordinated Project of Educational Innovation named FUTURO.
