The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.
This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Research on architecture of domain ontology component-based information semantic representation and integration is studied. Domain ontology component, a "loosely coupled" approach in the use of ontology, is advocated. As a case study, a prototype for agricultural policy-oriented domain ontology component-based semantic information integration system (APODOCSIIS) is established. Ontology plays a key role in providing a shared terminology and supporting for the semantic representation and integration process. The architecture allows APODOCSIIS-based applications to perform automatic semantic information integration of agricultural policy text at more length: semantic matching of concepts between different ontology components, domain ontology component-based dynamic semantic annotation of unstructured and semi-structured content, semantically-enabled information extraction, indexing, retrieval, integration, as well as ontology management, such as querying and modifying the underlying ontology components. Main frame of this architecture have been implemented and concrete integration example are given.
