e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. en
Abstract

As known, involvement of the Romanian scientific bodies in the European Research Area (ERA) and their access to the EU funds are still weak :On the other hand, a disrupting between research centres, universities and private sector occasionally was registered. In aim to improve the links between the Romanian research and educational units with all participants involved in agricultural and connective areas and all these with the EU research network as well, since 2005 with the corroborative support of the FAO and the World Bank some new projects will start. The projects focus on facilitating of knowledge from agricultural and adjacent sectors in view of providing a homogenous system of research and innovation equivalent to a common market. The information's system allows bringing together outcomes, accomplishments, news and needs of researchers, professors, and representatives of ministries and NGO's into a network. In this way we can use, not lose the ideas for the Romanian capacity building in view of the EU integration. In order to accomplish its tasks, the project activities refer to training programmes, electronic services and web site development as well as a new strategic plan for a better integration into the European research area.
