e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Title

A Framework for Semantics and Agent Based Personalized Information Retrieval in Agriculture

en
Abstract

Web has seen a tremendous growth in its size in recent years. It has become a very tedious task to find the relevant information from web search engines. Agriculture plays an important role in the economy of our country. Farmers, producers, supply-chain managers, extension workers, researchers and academicians are some of the important stakeholders in the field of agriculture. Web has now become an important medium for dissemination of information required by all of these. But, the retrieval of desired information from web is a difficult task as it requires sifting through all the search results and identifying correct web pages. A solution to this problem is personalization of search results according to user interests and preferences. Further, semantic web and multi-agent technology is playing an important role in adding the meaning to the web contents. At present, very little efforts have seen in applying personalization using semantic web and agent technology in the area of agriculture. This research proposes a framework based on semantic web and agent technology for the retrieval of personalized information from web in agriculture domain. This would help stakeholders in accessing the required information easily and efficiently through agents.
