The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.
This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. CALCUGEI, the Spanish calculation tool, is a biofuel greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculator developed to implement the European Directive (2009/28/EC) focused on the promotion of renewable energy and the European Directive (2009/30/EC) on Fuel Quality into national law. This tool allows the calculation of actual or calculated values (combination of actual and default values) of greenhouse gas emissions at each stage of the life cycle of biofuels in a friendly way by introducing data from the various processes. CALCUGEI has been selected by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade as one of the options to calculate the GHG emission savings of biofuels consumed in the country (Royal Decree 1597/2011). Agricultural data, from the most common energy crops cultivated in Spain, are available at NUTS2, NUTS3 and NUTS 4 levels. CALCUGEI has been developed by the Energy, Environmental and Technological Research Centre (CIEMAT) in the framework of a collaboration agreement with the Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE).
