e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. USE OF MOODLE AND GOOGLE APPS IN ENGINEERING STUDIES

en
Abstract

Nowadays most of Spanish universities offer official online courses of different professional degrees. In this kind of courses there is no face-to-face interaction among professors and students instead communication takes place through the internet. Moodle is a free and open source E-learning software platform created in 2003 and, since then, it has become extremely popular. On the other hand, Google Apps for Education are software with good didactic applications. From the educational point of view, Moodle and Google Apps are powerful tools that allow creating courses in a very easy and flexible way. In this work we show the main features of an applied thermodynamic course in agricultural engineering professional degree implemented in Moodle and in Google Apps. We evaluate the toughness and lack of use of those two softwares and we find the Google Apps a positive addition to the Moodle platform.
