e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Title

The Adoption Of The Information Technology In The Romanian Agricultural Exploitations

en
Abstract

This paper aims at assessing the stage of using information technology in the agricultural exploitations in Romania. In this sense, an analysis was performed with respect to the endowment of agricultural exploitations with computation techniques, at the level of each of Romania's development regions. The empirical study performed on the manner in which management is ensured in the agricultural exploitations, on the market of information solutions for customized agricultural needs and of the policies promoting investments in information technology, had as result the identification of the main factors that lead to its reduced penetration rate in the Romanian agriculture. The most important are: the low degree of professional education, especially of agricultural exploitations' managers, the high number of subsistence exploitations, which have neither the resources, nor the motivation to invest in computer technology and the absence of customized software, adapted to the specific requirements of the Romanian agriculture.
