e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Title

DOES FRENCH REALLY HAVE BARE SINGULAR SUBJECT NPs? ON SEMANTIC RECONSTRUCTION PARTLY BASED ON (CATA)PHORIC ELLIPSIS

en
Abstract

This paper examines an apparent counterexample to the claim that French is a language "with no bare nouns" (e.g Longobardi 2001), viz. bare (singular) nouns in the subject position of copular clauses: Agronomiste est Un metier d'equipe. It addresses two central questions: (i) Why bare subjects are possible?: (ii) Why these bare nouns seem to behave like nouns found in predicative position? In the first section, some puzzling observations are made on NP-status and subjecthood. The second section presents the major flaws of two previous accounts. It will then be argued that an account based on the cataphoric elliptical reconstruction of the corresponding appositive construction [Le N1 de N2], e.g. [le m tier d']agronomiste, is the most plausible solution.
