The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This paper introduces the concept of internet of things (IOT) technology topercept information, and discusses the role of the IOT technology in agricultural disease and insect pest control, which includes agricultural disease and insect pest monitoring system, collecting disease and insect pest information using sensor nodes, data processing and mining, etc. A disease and insect pest control system based on IOTis proposed, which consisted of three levels andthree systems. The system can provide a new way to access agricultural information for the farm.
