e-infrastructure Roadmap for Open Science in Agriculture

A bibliometric study

The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. Title

AgriCom: A Communication Platform for Agriculture Sector

en
Abstract

Communication among relevant persons in a right time is a main factor for the success in the area of agriculture industry. We argue that Multi-agent technology can be used to handle the required communication successfully among related persons in the agricultural sector. In the agricultural industry, farmers, buyers, sellers and technical instructors are the key persons and they need to communicate with each other to be success. AgriCom is an innovation practical multi-agent system for Agricultural Communication which was developed through the MaSMT architecture. AgriCom provides four types of agents as farmer, buyer, seller and instructor who are representing farmers, buyers, sellers and technical instructors in agricultural community. The system uses common MySQL database as ontology and the common message space of the agents. Single agent in the multi-agent system is a java application that can be worked as one of the above four types of persons such as farmers, buyers etc. The AgriCom system has been successfully tested with the practical environment and successful results were achieved.
