The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.

Information is the key element of supply chain management. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification and data capture technology. The paper explains the working principle and features of RFID technology. The vegetable supply chain contains vegetable cultivation, processing, storage, transportation and retailing in China. The RFID technology adoption will improve the effeciency of these vegetable supply chains. Meanwhile, This paper explores the existing challenges and obstacles to RFID's quick adoption in vegetable supply chain, which include technology challenges, standard challenges and cost challenges. The RFID technology has not widely used in Chinese vegetable enterprises and and it is expected to be adopted in future.
